Man Arrested Over Attempted Hijacking, North Belfast

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted hijacking and other related offences following an incident in the Glenbank Drive area on Thursday 4 December.

Police received a report at about 16:30 that a man had approached a woman as she was getting into her car and dragged her to the ground.

The man then took keys off the woman and attempted to start the car, but a group of passing members of the public came to the assistance of the woman and detained the suspect until the arrival of police.

The woman was treated for cuts and bruising following the incident.

The man is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.

Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car

A male pedestrian in his seventies has died after being hit by a car on the Mullydoo Road in Greencastle in County Down.

The accident occurred at about 15:00 on Thursday afternoon.

Inspector Keith Jamieson has appealed for witnesses to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.

Man Arrested After £20k Cannabis Discovery

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after police discovered herbal cannabis with an estimated value of around £20,000 at a property in Cookstown, County Tyrone, on 3 December.

The drugs were found along with a substantial sum of cash during a search in the Maloon Hill area. A second search was then carried out in the Killycanavan Road area of Ardboe. A number of items were also seized for further examination.

The arrested man was questioned and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Man Released Over North Belfast Shooting

A man has been released unconditionally after he was arrested in connection with a shooting in north Belfast.

Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch arrested the 37-year-old on Thursday morning in connection with dissident terrorist activity. The man was then taken to Antrim police station and released without charge later that night.

His arrest was linked to a gun attack on a car on 26 June at Oceanic Avenue in Belfast.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Intimidation And Criminal Damage
A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Conor McKee
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Conor McKee. Mr McKee was found dead at his home in Glenpark Street in north Belfast on Thursday, 07 January. He had been shot a number of times. The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.
