Police in separate abduction appeals
Police are appealing for information following two separate abduction attempts in Belfast and Londonderry.
In east Belfast, a 16-year-old girl was approached by a man in a white car which pulled up alongside her on the junction of the Holywood Road and Circular Road at around 9.40am.
The man asked the girl directions before grabbing her by the wrist and attempting to pull her into the car. She managed to break free and he drove off.
He is described as being in his 50's with a moustache. He was driving a large white car, which resembled a Ford Sierra only more rounded. It also had a large white spoiler.
The girl was shaken but uninjured following the incident.
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy escaped the clutches of three masked men in Londonderry last night.
The boy was walking along Primity Crescent in the village of Newbuildings when three men in balaclavas tried to entice him into a car.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a suspicious green car in the area at around 10pm on Sunday to contact them.
