Two Arrested Over Murder Of Edward Gibson

Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Edward Gibson in west Belfast last October.

Mr Gibson, 28, died after being shot in the Clonfadden Crescent area.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested by police in Belfast. She is being detained at Musgrave Police Station.

Gardai arrested a 47-year old-man in Donegal on Wednesday. He is being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda Station.

PSNI investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway, said: "Although one man has been charged with Edward Gibson's murder, this investigation is continuing. Our enquiries have led us to the Republic and we are working closely with colleagues in An Garda Siochana. I would continue to appeal to anyone with information about Mr Gibson’s murder to come forward to police."

Edward Gibson Murder: Woman Arrested
A 27-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of Edward Gibson. Mr Gibson was shot in the Clonfaddan Crescent area in west Belfast on 24 October 2014. The woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and withholding information. She is currently in police custody.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

NI Man Jailed For Use Of Criminal Encrypted Communication Channel
A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to a total of 12 years for offences linked to EncroChat – an encrypted communication channel used by criminals. Michael O'Loughlin was arrested in 2020 following the search of a property as part of Operation Venetic, a UK wide operation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) designed to "dismantle EncroChat".

Three In Hospital After Police Vehicle Collides With Another Vehicle
Two police officers and a civilian remain in hospital following a collision in Newry on Saturday, 13 April. It is understood that the police officers were travelling in a police vehicle to attend a separate incident at about 7.30pm when they collided with another vehicle on the Fathom Road.
