Man Arrested In L'Derry Over Glasgow Murder
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry in connection with a murder in Glasgow over 21 years ago.
Derek Sheerin, 24, was found dead yards from Celtic Park in the east end of Glasgow in September 1994.
The man has been taken to Glasgow for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey from Serious Crime Branch has appealed to people in Derry who have any information about the murder to contact detectives at Maydown using the non-emergency number 101, or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

25-Year-Old Charged With Murder Of Bobbie McKee
A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of Bobbie McKee in Kilkeel. Mr McKee (69) died shortly after being found seriously injured at his home in the Newcastle Road area on Thursday 21 March. The man has also been charged with the attempted murder of Mr McKee's wife, who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of Andrew James Thompson
A 44-year-old man has been jailed for manslaughter and committing arson recklessly to endanger life having unlawfully killed Andrew James Thompson. At Newry Crown Court, Gary Anthony Magee was sentenced to serve seven years in prison, half to be served in custody and half on license, following his guilty plea last October.

A new campaign to raise awareness of the dangers for children online has been launched by the PSNI and the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI), on Safer Internet Day, Tuesday 6th February 2024. According to the PSNI, online sexual offences against children are becoming an increasing crime type in Northern Ireland.

The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.
