Ardboe man charged with Cookstown murder

A 23-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of a man in Co Tyrone at the weekend.

Unemployed coach builder, Ryan Quinn, from Ardboe, appeared before Enniskillen Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with the murder of 21-year-old Cookstown man, Finbar Francis McVey.

Mr McVey died after being assaulted at Molesworth Street in Cookstown during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The court was told that 21-year-old Quinn denied the murder charge when it was read out to him at Dungannon police station.

He was remanded in custody until 16 October.

Police have appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened as many people were leaving locals pubs and niteclubs in the area.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

Renewed Appeal For Help Tracing Missing Woman Paula Elliott
The PSNI have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of high-risk missing person Paula Elliott, who has now not been seen for three weeks. Paula, 52, was last seen on Tuesday 5th March on CCTV cameras leaving the Sprucefield Court area of Lisburn at 5.30pm, before making her way to Warren Gardens at around 5.36pm.
