Armed Man Attempts To Rob Shop In Antrim

A man armed with a knife has attempted to rob a shop in Co Antrim.

The incident happened at premises on the Dublin Road at around 4.30pm on Thursday.

The man entered the store however he made off after workers challenged him.

The man is described as 5ft 3ins in height and he was wearing a navy coat with a blue and cream scarf over his face.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact the non-emergency number 101, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Meat Cleaver Robber Sought
A female shop assistant has been threatened with a meat cleaver during a robbery in west Belfast. A man carrying a cleaver entered an off-licence on the Springfield Road at about 4pm on Tuesday and demanded cash from the till - escaping with an undisclosed sum of money. The woman was unhurt but said to be badly shaken.

Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart. The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am. A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

Police Release Images Of Two People Over Robbery In North Belfast
Police investigating a robbery in north Belfast have released images of two people they would like to speak to. The armed robbery happened at a shop on the Antrim road on Saturday 31 October last year. A man entered the shop armed with a claw hammer and threatened female staff members. He made off with a sum of cash in the direction of Grey's Lane.
