Man And Woman Attacked In Co L'Derry

Four masked men, armed with baseball bats and a sledgehammer, have attacked a man and a woman in Co L'Derry.

The assault happened in the Oakvale Terrace area of Maghera at around 1.10am on Wednesday.

The victims, aged 24 and 21, received hospital treatment, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: "I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Cookstown Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Appeal For Information On L'Derry Arson Attack
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an arson attack on a property in the Shearwater way area of L'Derry on the morning of Saturday 31 December. Detective Sergeant Gingell said: "At approximately 7.50am, we received a report that accelerant had been poured on a boarded up window and set alight.
