Siege Museum Receives Four-Star Rating

The newly opened Siege Museum in L'Derry has achieved a four-star rating under Tourism Northern Ireland's visitor experience grading quality scheme.

The purpose-built museum is laid out over three floors and is a permanent display of the history of the Siege of Derry and the Associated Clubs of the Apprentice Boys of Derry.

Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell said: "The presentation of the Tourism NI four star rating, gained on the first application, is an outstanding achievement and indicates the attraction is of an 'excellent' standard. The range of artefacts, video and interactive media, gives visitors an excellent insight into this important event in the history of Londonderry. In addition visitors are also afforded a tremendous opportunity to view one of the finest collections of meeting rooms used by the Loyal Orders. The Siege Museum represents a valuable and interesting addition to the tourism product already available here in the city and I have no doubt it will attract even more visitors to the North West."
