Pair Arrested After Heroin Seized In Co Armagh
A man and woman have been arrested after police seized heroin, worth and estimated street value of £8,000, after they stopped and searched a vehicle in Co Armagh.
The car was stopped in the Church Street area in Poyntzpass on Wednesday night.
The suspects have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug and possessing a class A controlled drug with intent to supply. They are currently being detained in police custody.
Detective Inspector Keith Gawley said: "We are determined to reduce the availability of this killer drug and I appeal to anyone who has any concerns or information about illegal drugs to contact their local police on the non-emergency number 101.
"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Police discovered the cannabis factory at a house in the Keenaghan Road area on Tuesday. A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a drug seizure made during a police search operation in Belfast. Officers from the Belfast Central Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task seized a quantity of suspected Class A and Class C controlled drugs.
