Woman Seriously Sexually Assaulted In Belfast

A woman has reportedly been seriously sexually assaulted in Belfast.

The attack happened in the Sydenham bypass area between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday.

A man, who was driving a dark coloured car, approached the victim who was walking countrywards along the Sydenham Bypass, between Dee Street and Belfast City Airport.

He made off along the bypass in the direction of Holywood following the attack.

The man is described as being aged in his 30s and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood up.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Alliance East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle condemned the attack

He said: "This is a horrific crime that will no doubt send shockwaves through the local community.

"My thoughts are with the woman at this time and I hope she will be able to recover from this sickening incident."

Man Suffers Burns In East Belfast Arson Attack
A man has suffered burns to his hand following an arson attack at a house in east Belfast. The attack happened in the My Lady's Road area at around 4am on Wednesday, 20 April. A container with flammable liquid was set outside the front door of the property and set alight. The front porch was damaged and the man was treated at the scene.

Attempted Hijacking In North Belfast
A woman has escaped from an attempted hijacking in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Ligoniel Road area at around 9pm on Thursday. A female driver was stopped at traffic lights when one man stood in front of the car and another man tried to open the driver's door. The woman managed to get away by driving off.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.
