Petrol Bomb Thrown At Police In Co Antrim
A petrol bomb has been thrown at police in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.
The bomb was thrown as the PSNI were attending the scene of a road crash in the Castlemara Drive area at around 1.05am on Sunday.
Inspector Mick Wood condemned the attack.
He said: "The police service belongs to the whole community and police officers are there to serve and protect the whole community. A police officer should never come under attack while simply doing their job.
"I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Larne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson said: "Those behind this reckless attack have nothing to offer our society and I must condemn their actions.
"There can never be any justification for attacking the police, who are carrying out their job aiming to keep everyone safe from harm.
"We are very fortunate that an officer was not injured or worse and I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible."

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

PSNI Appeal After Assault At Lagan Valley Hospital
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information over an incident at Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn in February. Police believed the attack involved up to five people on the morning of Tuesday, 27 February. Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the hospital's A&E department and observed anything on the morning in question.

Teenager Arrested After Two Police Officers Injured In Belfast
A 16-year-old girl has been arrested after two police officers were injured as trouble flared in Belfast overnight. Petrol bombs and masonry were thrown at the officers in the Woodvale Road area at around 12.50am on Wednesday. No petrol bombs made contact, however two police officers were injured after bottles were thrown at them.
