PSNI Appeal After Assault At Lagan Valley Hospital

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information over an incident at Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn in February.

Police believed the attack involved up to five people on the morning of Tuesday, 27 February.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the hospital's A&E department and observed anything on the morning in question.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Yellow Weather Alerts Warn Of More Flooding
The Met Office has issued a fresh weather warning for the afternoon of Thursday 08 November with the possibility of more flooding. It folllows an earlier alert which is already in place for Friday 09 November. The yellow warning will take effect from 4pm on Thursday and remain in place until 4am on Friday morning.

Appeal Follows Belfast Shooting
The PSNI are seeking help from the public after a shooting in the Dunmurry area last night. Police said the victim was found at about 11.20pm and have appealed for anyone with any information about what happened to come forward. The man is being treated in hospital after being shot in both legs.

Appeal Launched Over Dromore Deaths
Police in Dromore have launched an appeal for information, following the arrest of a man as part of investigations into the deaths of three women in the area over the past 11 years. A 66-year-old man was detained in the town yesterday morning and was taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.

Officers Disciplined Over Search Death
Eight police officers have been disciplined following a Police Ombudsman report into a man who was reported missing and was later struck and killed by a train. 29-year-old Jonathan Magee was killed when he walked in front of a train at Knockmore Bridge near Lisburn on Saturday 29 January 2011.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

PSNI Granted More Time Over Dromore Deaths
The PSNI has been granted an extra 36 hours to question a man arrested as part of investigations into the deaths of three women in the Dromore area over the past 11 years. 47-year-old Michelle Bickerstaff died in April last year, 50-year-old Margaret Weise in August 2007 and Elizabeth McKee, 52, in December 2002.

Officer Dies Suddenly At Police Station In Co Antrim
A police officer has died suddenly at Ballymoney Police Station in Co Antrim. PSNI Superintendent Tony Callaghan said: "Police are investigating the sudden death of a 55-year-old police officer in Ballymoney Police Station on April 18. "We are not treating the death as suspicious." He also confirmed that the Police Ombudsman has been informed.

Four Men Arrested For Dissident Activity
Four men have been arrested in Newtownabbey on suspicion of dissident republican activity. PSNI officers detained the men on Thursday evening aged 30,35 and 46. They are being questioned in Antrim police station.

Derry Barracks Blasted Overnight
A bomb blast has devastated the area round a Londonderry police station. The PSNI said two men, one armed with a gun, hijacked a taxi driver shortly before 3am this morning and that the bomb was loaded into his car after which he was forced to drive to the police station.

SDLP to meet police chiefs over Belfast disturbances
An SDLP delegation comprising all of its councillors and MLAs in Belfast is set to meet with police chiefs over the recent street violence in the city. Police Officer Given Adult Caution For Bar Assault
A police officer assaulted a man at a bar while off-duty and unlawfully accessed information on police computer systems, according to a Police Ombudsman investigation. The officer was given an adult caution after he was found to have punched a man in the face during an argument at a bar in Belfast city centre in August 2014.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
