Christmas Lights To Be Switched On In Belfast

Traffic diversions will be put in place during the Christmas lights switch-on which is taking place in Belfast on Saturday, 19 November.

Wellington Place, Donegall Square North, Donegall Square West, Chichester Street and Donegall Place will be closed between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.

People attending the event are advised to use city centre car parks, on street parking and public transport on Saturday.

Lily of Lily's Driftwood Bay and Tiny and Small from the Clangers will help the Lord Mayor switch-on the Christmas lights and also joining the festive line-up are a choir from Springfield Primary School and the Cool FM Breakfast team.

Arrest Made In Connection With Attempted Murder On 06 January
A man, aged in his 60s, has been arrested by PSNI detectives investigating an attempted murder in Ardmore, L'Derry last month. The arrest is part of an investigation by detectives into a report shots were fired at a house on Ardkill Road on the evening of Saturday 6th January.

Marathon organisers warn of traffic disruption
Organisers of this year's 22nd Belfast City Marathon are warning motorists of the expected traffic disruption throughout most of Bank Holiday Monday. Disruption can be expected along the routes of both the main Belfast City Marathon and the associated Fun Run which begins at City Hall.
