County Down Security Alert Declared A Hoax

A security alert in Ballynahinch, County Down, has been declared a hoax.

Police and Army bomb experts were called to the Riverview Heights area following reports of a suspicious object at around 8pm on Thursday 24 January.

A number of homes were evacuated while the object was examined.

The alert was later declared a hoax and the police operation ended at around 10pm.
