Man Charged After Car Fails To Stop For Belfast Police

A man has been arrested in Belfast following an incident when a car failed to stop for police in the city centre.

Officers said the altercation occurred on Saturday 02 February.

The 23-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday 04 February facing a number of offences including dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and failing to stop for police.

One Still In Hospital After L'Derry Shootings

One man remains in hospital in a stable condition after being shot in L'Derry on Friday evening, 01 February.

Another man injured in a separate shooting has been discharged from the city's Altnagelvin Hospital.

The attacks happened within 10 minutes of each other and less than 100m apart in the Ballymagroarty area.

The police are treating both incidents as paramilitary-style attacks.

Belfast Gin Fest To Return In Summer 2019

Belfast Gin Fest has announced it will return this summer following its successful debut in 2018.

The three-day event will take place from June 21-23 at Elmwood Hall in the city's Queen's Quarter, with over 30 brands scheduled to attend.

Leading mixologists from both local and global drinks companies will give cocktail demonstrations, while an outdoor bar, tasting sessions and live music can also be enjoyed.

Copeland, Jawbox, Malfy, Boatyard, Shortcross and Gunpowder are some of the brands expected to showcase their products at the 2019 festival.

Appeal For Missing Man In Belfast
Police are appealing for help in the search for missing man Robert Darling. The PSNI branch in Belfast City Centre is leading the search for the 40-year-old. Robert is around 5ft 8" tall and of medium build. Anyone who sees him or knows where he is has been asked to contact PSNI on 101 - the incident number you need is 874 21/11.

Investigation Launched After Heroin And Cash Seized In Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after discovering heroin and a sum of cash in Belfast city centre. Four wraps of the Class A drugs were found in bushes on Wednesday, 30 November. Police also seized a sum of cash. The PSNI are continuing with their enquiries.

Police Issue Appeal Over Attempted PSNI Murder
The PSNI has issued an appeal to the public regarding the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer and his family at their home in east Belfast on Sunday 30 December. Detectives from Serious Crime Branch want to speak to late night revellers who got taxis in Belfast city centre that weekend.

Flag Violence Is 'Wrong' - UDA Man
Loyalist rioters who are violently protesting the flying of the union flag at Belfast City Hall are destroying their own communities and playing into Sinn Féin's hands. This was the message from Jimmy Birch, a UDA man from east Belfast who was speaking to the BBC as part of a Radio Ulster documentary called 'Inside The Flag Protests'.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Intimidation And Criminal Damage
A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.
