Late Goal Puts NI Top Of Euro 2020 Qualifying Group

An 87th minute goal from substitute Josh Magennis during Northern Ireland's Euro 2020 qualifying match against Belarus on Sunday evening accelerated the squad to the top of their group.

Michael O'Neill's men ended their second match of the campaign with a 2-1 victory at Windsor Park on 24 March.

Securing the maximum of six points from their opening games, the side leads Group C by three points after Germany's 3-2 victory over the Netherlands.

Northern Ireland took the lead in the first half, with Jonny Evans scoring 30 minutes in. Belarus quickly levelled things back up with a goal from Ihar Stasevich, before Josh Magennis waited until the last opportunity to break the deadlock.

With two wins out of two, the team have done all that is possible at this stage in their European campaign. They will take on Belarus and Estonia away from home in June.
