Employee Threatened With Hammer In Belfast Armed Robbery

Police are appealing for information after a man armed with a hammer robbed a shop in south Belfast.

A business premises on University Road in the south of the city was targeted between 7pm and 7.30 on Monday 15 April. The armed male entered the shop and demanded money from a member of staff while threatening them with a claw hammer.

After taking a small sum of money, he fled in the direction of College Gardens where an accomplice had been waiting on a mini moto-style motorbike.

The suspect is described as being in his teens, around 5'8" tall and wearing a motorcycle helmet, grey coloured track top and track bottoms.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the vicinity and observed two males on a mini moto motorcycle to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 1230 of 15/04/19.

Man Armed With A Hammer Robs Shop In Shankill
A man with a hammer has robbed a shop in the Shankill Road area of Belfast. The incident occurred at around 10.55pm on Monday. A member of staff was threatened by the armed man, however he was not injured. The man escaped with a sum of money and cigarettes. He is described as being around 30 years old, 6 ft tap and of stocky build.
