Weather Warning As Heavy Rain Forecast

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning covering Northern Ireland for later this week.

Loyalist celebrations may be disrupted on Thursday 11 July as heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to cause issues on the roads.

The warning comes into effect at 12 noon and is in place through to 9pm, with much of the region covered, including counties Armagh, Antrim, Down, L'Derry and Tyrone.

There is a chance of train and bus delays and even cancellations, with some homes or businesses possibly affected by flooding. Power cuts may also occur.

Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning For NI
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Northern Ireland. A small number of schools were forced to close in County L'Derry, Tobermore, Draperstown and Maghera following heavy snowfalls. The PSNI are urging motorists to be very cautious on the roads.

Petrol Bombs Thrown At Co Antrim Flat
An investigation is underway after petrol bombs were thrown at a flat in Co Antrim. Two petrol bombs were thrown at a ground floor property in Brookfield Gardens, Ahoghill on Wednesday night, 22 January. One device smashed through the living room window and landed in the room where a male occupant extinguished the flames.

Arrest As Firearms Seized In Co Antrim
Police have arrested a suspect following the discovery of a number of suspected firearms in Co Antrim. A quantity of ammunition and imitation firearms were also seized during the raid of a flat in Carrickfergus on Tuesday 21. A 32 year-old man was subsequently arrested and remained in custody on Tuesday evening.

Warning As £190k Lost To Scams
Members of the public have been swindled out of a combined £190,000 in recent months, the PSNI has revealed. A series of remote and online scams were carried out in November and December last year resulting in the huge financial loss for six local people.

Pedestrian Dies In Co Antrim Collision
A male pedestrian has died following a road crash in Co Antrim. The incident, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, happened on the Glenavy Road in Maghaberry at around 11.30pm on Sunday 19 January. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
