Pair Arrested Over Belfast Assault

Police have made two arrests following an assault in Belfast.

A man was struck several times in the head and face in the Bloomfield Court area of the city early on Sunday morning, 22 September.

Detectives investigating the assault, which also saw criminal damage caused to a car, have arrested two men aged 56 and 32.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 546 22/09/19.

Jennifer Cardy was discovered dead by two fishermen at McKee's Dam near Hillsborough in 1981 after being snatched as she cycled to a friend's house on 12 August that same year.

Detectives in Belfast have arrested two men in connection with a alleged sexual assault in the city at the weekend. Police are questioning the men, aged 27 and 28-years-old, to establish more details about the alleged incident.

Pair Arrested Over Omagh Assault
Two men have been arrested following an assault in Omagh over the weekend. A fight broke out at a house in the Hunters Crescent area shortly after 11pm on Friday night, 09 August. A verbal altercation between two males on the doorstep of a house is understood to have escalated into a physical fight.

Police renew murder appeal
Police have renewed their appeal into the murder of a man in Co Down last month. Andrew Cully, a father of two teenage boys from Greyabbey, was shot up to 10 times as he sat in his parked car in the loyalist West Winds estate in Newtownards on 24 March. Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw Mr Cully sitting in his car prior to the shooting.
