Arrest As Children Struck By Car In West Belfast

A man has been arrested after two children were struck by a car in west Belfast.

The boys, aged six and 12, were crossing the Andersonstown Road on Saturday evening, 05 October, when they were knocked down by a white Vauxhall Insignia.

Both sustained broken bones in their legs following the incident outside Saint Agnes Church and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police arrested a 37-year-old man at the scene.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 1497 of 05/10/19.

Bulgarian Man Arrested In NI Over Murder In Native Country
A man from Bulgaria has been arrested in connection with a murder in his native country. The PSNI detained the suspect in Co Antrim on Sunday, 17 December, after a European Arrest Warrant was issued in Bulgaria. The 41-year-old appeared before Belfast Recorders Court on Monday, 18 December, and has been remanded in custody.

Basque Flees NI As Extradition Looms
A Basque separatist convicted of 25 murders is believed to have left Northern Ireland. Jose Ignacio de Juana Chaos, 54, is wanted in Spain to face a charge of glorifying terrorism. De Juana Chaos, who had been living in west Belfast, was out on bail ahead of an appeal against his extradition.

Police arrest man following stabbing in south Belfast
One man has been arrested following a stabbing incident in south Belfast early this morning. It is understood that the man was stabbed in the chest after a row broke out between two individuals. The incident occured at a house in Fountainville Avenue at around 1am on Tuesday.
