Body Found In Search For Missing Dungannon Teenager
An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a teenager boy following the discovery of a body in the Fintona area shortly before 12 noon on Monday, 5th December.
The PSNI's Criminal Investigation Department have said that they believe the body to be that of missing 15-year-old Matthew McCallan from the Dungannon area.
Detective Inspector Michael Winters said: "Our thoughts are very much with Matthew's devastated family who received this tragic news today. A number of specially trained officers are providing support to them at this time.
"Detectives will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
"Police received a report of a missing person shortly after 3.30am on Sunday, 4th December when Matthew did not arrive home after attending an event in Fintona on Saturday night.
"Sadly a body, which we believe to be Matthew, was discovered in a ditch in the laneway of a property approximately two miles away from the social event today, Monday 5th December, at 11.45am.
"We are keeping an open mind and would appeal for anyone with information to come forward. Matthew was last seen at approximately 1.20 am in the Ecclesville Centre, Fintona, and we are keen to establish his movements after this time. I would appeal to anyone who saw the teenager or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 319 of 04/12/22."

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.

Renewed Appeal For Help Tracing Missing Woman Paula Elliott
The PSNI have issued a fresh appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of high-risk missing person Paula Elliott, who has now not been seen for three weeks. Paula, 52, was last seen on Tuesday 5th March on CCTV cameras leaving the Sprucefield Court area of Lisburn at 5.30pm, before making her way to Warren Gardens at around 5.36pm.

Northern Irish Snooker Player Mark Allen has won the the Haikou World Open in China for the second successive season. Allen, 27, defeated Matthew Stevens 10-4 to win. "To win the same tournament two years in a row is a great achievement and I'm happy to retain my title," said Allen. "The snooker wasn't as good as I had hoped.

Investigation Continues Into Matthew McCallan's Death
The PSNI's Criminal Investigation Department are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the death of 15-year-old Matthew McCallan. The body of the Dungannon teenager was discovered in the Tattyreagh Road area of Fintona shortly before 12 noon on Monday 5th December.

AQE said it has engaged extensively with its 34-member grammar schools and through them, a large number of primary schools to ensure its plans reflect the needs of schools and pupils.
