Man Arrested In Connection With Serious Assault In West Belfast

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in west Belfast on the evening of Friday, 03 November.

At approximately 6pm police received a report that a man had been assaulted by an unknown man in what appears to be an unprovoked attack on the Springfield Road.

The victim sustained injuries to his ear and body before being threatened with a knife.

Officers attended and a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and threats to kill.

He remains in custody at this time.

Musgrave CID Detective Inspector Foley, said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack or anyone with CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 1332 of 03/11/23.

BCC Welcomes Conviction Of Belfast Man For Dog Attack
Belfast City Council (BCC) has welcomed the conviction of a man at Belfast Magistrates Court for an offence involving a dog attack on a woman. BCC brought the prosecution against 43-year-old Stuart Grace, of Forthriver Crescent, Belfast, following a report that Mr Grace’s German Shepherd dog had attacked a woman, injuring her arm and back.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal For Information On Assault In Ballygowan
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault in the Square area of Ballygowan. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant Westbury said: "It was reported that an 18-year-old man was assaulted outside a licenced premises at around 1am this morning, Sunday 8th January.
