Man Arrested After Andersonstown Road Crash

The PSNI have arrested a man in his 40s after a single vehicle crash in west Belfast.

The collision happened on the Andersonstown Road at around 9.40pm on Thursday evening, 18 January.

Police said the man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and was subsequently released on bail.

In a statement a PSNI spokesperson said: "Police received and responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the Andersonstown Road in west Belfast at around 9.40pm yesterday evening, Thursday 18th January.

"Extensive damage was caused to the front of the vehicle.

"One man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He was subsequently released on bail for further enquiries to be carried out.

"Anyone who may have any information which might assist is asked to contact police on 101, and quote reference number 1863 of 18/01/24."

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

PSNI Reveals Figures On Mass Speeding Operation
New figures from the PSNI show the number of drivers caught speeding in one day in Northern Ireland as part of a major operation. Police carried out vehicle check points, speed checks and proactively patrolling as part of a Service Wide proactive Roads Policing Operation focusing on speeding (OP Lifesaver) and pedestrian safety (Op Safer steps).

Three released on bail over city attack
Three males arrested in connection with a serious assault in west Belfast last weekend, have been released on bail pending further inquiries. The arrests were made in connection with an attack on a man aged in his 20s, outside a bowling club on the Andersonstown Road area of the city at around 11.30pm last Friday night.
