Second Man Extradited From Poland To Northern Ireland

A second man has been extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland this week to face charges related to the cultivation of cannabis.

The 40 year-old-man was extradited from Poland on Thursday 11th April, to stand trial in relation to a number of offences of cultivation of cannabis.

The offences occurred in the Maghera and Coleraine areas in October 2019. The suspect skipped bail and failed to appear before Coleraine and Magherafelt Magistrates Court in March and April 2021

The male was initially arrested in Poland on March 7th this year, and extradition proceedings are now complete with his successful return to Northern Ireland on Thursday.

He is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court today, Friday 12th April.

Sergeant Davey, from the Police Service's International Policing Unit, said: "This demonstrates our continued and effective working with our international partners to track down wanted persons and bring offenders to justice.

"If you abscond while on bail then PSNI will take all steps possible to locate you and have you brought before the courts here in NI."
