Man Charged Following Ballymena Disorder
A 29-year-old man arrested during the disorder in Ballymena on Monday night, 9th June, has been charged and is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 3rd July.
The man faces charges of riotous behaviour, disorderly behaviour, attempted criminal damage, and resisting police. As is standard procedure, the charges will undergo review by the Public Prosecution Service.
Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson confirmed that police are "actively working to identify those responsible for last night's racially-motivated disorder in Ballymena and bring them to justice." He also assured the public of a continued police presence in the area. "Over the coming days, we will have in place a significant policing presence to help protect these communities in Ballymena and prevent any future disorder," ACC Henderson stated.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or who can help identify those involved in the disorder to contact them on 101.

Ballymena experienced a second consecutive night of serious rioting and disorder on Tuesday in the Clonavon Terrace area, where police officers came under "sustained attack" for several hours. The unrest saw multiple petrol bombs, heavy masonry, bricks, and fireworks directed at officers.

Four Men Charged In Connection With Belfast Disorder
Four men have been charged with numerous offences connected to disorder in Belfast city centre and surrounding areas. Sporadic violence developed across the city centre and further disorder was reported in the Sandy Row area where a business premises was also set on fire.

A civilian PSNI employee has appeared before Ballymena Magistrates Court in Co Antrim today accused of murdering his wife. The court heard that when charged yesterday 46-year-old Adrian Baird of Loughloughlan Road in Broughshane said that he "did not mean to kill his wife".
