PSNI Advice Ahead Of 01 July Parades Across Belfast

Road users in Belfast are advised to anticipate significant traffic disruption on Tuesday, 1 July 2025, as a number of parades are scheduled to take place across the city.

A large parade is expected to commence on Templemore Avenue at approximately 19:30, with an anticipated finish time of around 23:00. The primary roads in East Belfast likely to be affected include Templemore Avenue, Albertbridge Road, Ravenhill Road, Castlereagh Road, Beersbridge Road, Bloomfield Road, North Road, Upper Newtownards Road, Belmont Road, Holywood Road, and Newtownards Road. Smaller, minor roads in the vicinity may also experience disruption. A large number of participants and spectators are expected for this event, necessitating some road closures and diversions.

Further parades are also scheduled to begin at 18:15 in the Shankill Road area, and another at approximately 19:45 in the Clifton Street area. Main roads that may be impacted by these events include Shankill Road, Peters Hill, North Street, Carlisle Circus, Clifton Street, Donegall Road, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place, and Donegall Square North. Minor roads in these areas could also be affected. Both of these parades are expected to conclude by approximately 21:30.

Additionally, a parade is anticipated in the Sandy Row area, starting at approximately 19:15 and expected to finish by 20:30.

For all parades, road closures and diversions will be implemented, and traffic disruption is highly likely. Motorists are strongly advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
