Police Investigate Racially-Motivated Attack In Donaghadee
Police are investigating a report of a racially-motivated hate crime in Donaghadee after a window was smashed and graffiti was daubed on a wall at a residential property.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 30 August, just before 9.55pm in the Killaughey Road area.
Inspector Van Der Schyff said that while the occupants of the home were uninjured, the situation could have had more serious consequences. The police are now appealing for information from the public. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw someone dressed in dark clothing and riding an electric scooter in the area around the time of the incident. The Inspector noted that the local community has widely condemned the attack and shown support for the affected family, stating that "these actions do not represent the feelings of the local residents".
