Man Dies Following Altercation Outside Lurgan Bar
Police have confirmed that Robert Paczkowski, a 51-year-old man, has died in hospital from injuries he is understood to have sustained during an altercation in Lurgan at the weekend.
Police were called to the William Street area shortly before 1am on Sunday, 19 October 2025, following reports of the incident. Police were told the man had been attempting to re-enter a bar when he was allegedly pushed back by door staff, subsequently falling and striking his head on the pavement. He received immediate treatment from both bar staff and paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital. Sadly, he passed away on Thursday, 23 October 2025.
Two men have been interviewed by police as part of what has now become a manslaughter investigation. A file of evidence is being prepared and will be submitted to the Public Prosecution Service in due course.

A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of carrying a replica firearm in a public place in the Lisburn area. The investigation began after officers received a report on Sunday, 19 October 2025, that a man was seen brandishing a weapon at the rear of a property. There were no reports of any shots being fired.

Following the official Christmas lights switch-on event, Belfast City Council is inviting residents and visitors to enjoy a wide-ranging programme of free, family-friendly events throughout the festive season. The line-up is centred around the return of the Winter's Den at 2 Royal Avenue, which has been transformed into a winter wonderland.
