Viable Device Found In West Belfast

A viable device has been found at a property in west Belfast.

The device was discovered during a security alert in the Suffolk Road area on Tuesday night, 04 November.

It has been taken away for further forensic examination.

Inspector McAnallen said: "A number of local residents had to be evacuated from the area, but have now been allowed to return to their homes. We thank them for their patience while this safety operation was carried out.

"We would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1436 of 4/11/25.

"Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org."

Sinn Féin MLA Órlaithi Flynn said: "I condemn those responsible for this reckless behaviour.

"Sinn Féin has been in contact with police and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward."

Viable Device Discovered In Ards Security Alert
A security alert in the Linden Place area of Newtownards has now concluded, after a viable device was discovered inside a residential property. Residents who had been evacuated overnight were permitted to return to their homes shortly after midnight today, Thursday, 26 June 2025.

'Viable Pipe Bomb' At Centre Of Antrim Rd Security Alert
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a security alert on the Antrim Road in north Belfast. Emergency services responded to reports of a suspicious object shortly before 6pm last night, Thursday 11 May. Ammunition Technical Officers were called to the scene to examine the device, which was discovered to be a viable pipe bomb.

Viable Incendiary Device Found On Police Station Grounds
A controlled explosion has been carried out on a viable incendiary device discovered on the grounds of Ballycastle Police Station, Co Antrim. A second device found has been declared a hoax. They were discovered on the Ramoan Road on Thursday morning. A number of businesses were forced to close during the alert, however they have now reopened.

Viable Pipebomb Made Safe In Newtownabbey
The PSNI are appealing for information after a viable pipebomb was thrown at a house in Newtownabbey. Police were called to the incident on Voltaire Gardens on Tuesday night and found the device in the garden of the house. A number of homes in the area were evacuated and Army Technical Officers (ATO) were called.

Viable Device Recovered After Ballyclare Security Alert
A viable device has been recovered following a security alert in the Ballyclare area on Saturday night, 26th April. Police received a report of a suspicious object in a residential area at approximately 10:50pm. Officers attended the scene, and the object was subsequently declared viable and removed for further forensic examination.
