Man Arrested After North Belfast Hit-And-Run Collision

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a hit-and-run collision in north Belfast left a pedestrian in hospital.

Police said the incident occurred in the Glandore Avenue area at around 6.10pm on Monday, 20 July 2026. The suspect was detained on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, as well as related driving offences, and remains in custody.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Enquiries are ongoing, and officers are appealing for witnesses and footage, particularly dash-cam or other recordings. Anyone with information is asked to use the witness appeal form at reporting.psni.police.uk/appeals quoting reference 1481 20/07/26, or call 101.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a police pursuit in North Belfast. It is understood that the police pursuit began late on Saturday, 21 July following reports that a vehicle had been involved in a theft at a shop on the Oldpark Road. The suspect vehicle was spotted by police just before midnight in the Ardoyne area and a pursuit began.

Police Appeal Following Fatal Crash In Fermanagh
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Co Fermanagh. A 42-year-old man died in the crash which happened on the Belfast Road in Brookeborough at around 8.35am on Friday, 08 June. The man was the driver of one of the vehicles involved. Man Seriously Injured Following Attack In Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in a car park in Belfast. The incident happened off Castle Street in Ballymoney on Sunday at around 1.30am. A 25 year-old-man is currently being treated in hospital with a serious head injury. A 22-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
