Clocks Go Back: NI Water Urges Winter Readiness And Sign-Ups For Support
With the clocks about to go back, NI Water is urging households to get winter-ready by registering for its free text alert service and, for those who need extra assistance, joining its free Customer Care Register.
The text alert system provides SMS notifications about both planned works and emergency interruptions to water supplies. By adding their details to the Customer Care Register, customers allow NI Water to record specific needs and arrange practical assistance if a supply is disrupted. The scheme can help people with disabilities, health conditions or communication needs, as well as anyone whose circumstances mean they may require additional support. Measures include a password for doorstep visits, permission for a carer or relative to contact NI Water on a customer's behalf, and priority consideration for bottled water during an interruption.
NI Water Customer Experience Manager Ruth Simpson said: "As the clocks go back, it's a timely reminder to make sure you and your loved ones are ready for winter. If you think a little extra support would help, please join our free Customer Care Register. You can also sign up to our free text alert service, so we can keep you informed about planned and emergency water supply interruptions."
Further information is available at www.niwater.com by searching 'Customer Care Register' or 'Text Alert Service', or by calling Waterline on 03457 440088. Customers with hearing difficulties can also use Typetalk via Waterline. Media enquiries should be directed to the NI Water Press Office at press.office@niwater.com.
