Mother and two children escape injury in arson attack

A mother and her two children have escaped injury following an arson attack on their home in Londonderry.

The incident, which occurred at Synge Court shortly before 2.40am on Thursday, saw two wooden doors placed on top of a bin at the back of the house and set alight. Minor damage was caused to the outside of the house.

Elsewhere, two men have been injured following a paramilitary style shooting in east Belfast.

The pair, aged 25 and 37, were approached by two masked men, one of whom was carrying a gun, in the Kirn Park area of Dundonald at around 11.40pm on Wednesday.

They ordered the victims to lie on the ground before shooting the 25-year-old twice in the lower leg and the other man once in the leg.

Both victims were taken to hospital however their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. At approximately 10.20pm on Saturday, 13 April, police received a report of a fire at a house in the Kilburn Street area. 15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.

Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary
Police responding to a road traffic collision in L'Derry last night, Wednesday 20 March, arrested two men in connection with an earlier burglary in the area. At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.
