Police appeal for information on Lisburn burglaries
Police in Lisburn are appealing for information following a spate of break-ins in the city over the past six weeks.
Around seven homes in the Ballinderry are have been robbed during daylight hours and a number of gardening equipment, including lawnmowers have been taken.
Police believe that thieves have called to the houses in advance to check if anyone is home, before carrying out the robberies.
A number houses in the Colinglen area of the city have also been burgled in what police believe to be overnight incidents.
Police said that 11 homes have been robbed, four of which were creeper style burglaries resulting in family cars being stolen.
Detectives believe that the robbers gained entry through unlocked doors or windows.
Security in the area has been stepped up and residents are being warned to remain extra vigilant.
Anyone witnessing any suspicious activity is urged to contact detectives on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.
