Two remanded over attempted kidnapping
Two men have been remanded in custody charged with conspiring to kidnap a child in County Londonderry on July 11.
Lee Joseph Wright, 24, and from Upper Captain Street in Coleraine, and Henri Termonia, 58, of Castle Park in Dervock, both appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court earlier today in connection with charges of conspiring to steal and carry away a child against his or her will.
The men were arrested near a children's playground in Portstewart two days ago and it is understood that when charged, both men denied the offence.
However the arresting officer today told the court that he believed that he could connect both men to the charges.
A defence solicitor said that the two men would be applying for bail.
The pair will reappear before a Coleraine Court via video-link on August 7.
