Mopack Systems appoint receivers
Mopack Systems in Strabane have called in PricewaterhouseCoopers as joint administrative receivers.
The three partners in the Business Recovery Services of partners, Rob Hunt, Michael Horrocks and Garth Calow, will administer Mopack Systems in an attempt to sort out the financial difficulties facing the firm.
Commenting on the appointment, Garth Calow said: "Our immediate priority as joint administrative receivers is to endeavour to continue trading while we determine the financial and order book position.
"Until the trading position is clear it would be premature to speculate on the likelihood of redundancies. We will be initiating immediate discussions with suppliers and customers whilst attempting to find a buyer for the business."
SDLP assembly member Eugene McMenamin has called for the Economic Development Officer for Strabane District Council to meet with the liquidator, Invest NI, the local chamber of commerce and trade unions.
He added: "I am sure that employees are concerned about job security at this time but I have been assured by Mopack that no jobs are in jeopardy."
Mopack Systems processes printed polythene and polypropylene products for the food, textiles, medical and agriculture industries.
The company currently employs 100 people in Strabane and was acquired by One Vizion in August 2002.
