Fermanagh family targeted by petrol bombers

A family in Co Fermanagh has had a lucky escape after a petrol bomb was thrown into their home last night.

At around 11pm, the petrol bomb was thrown through the living room window of the home in the predominantly nationalist Cornagrade estate in Enniskillen.

The device, however, failed to ignite and there were no injuries.

This is the second time in three days that a family has been targeted. On Wednesday, a woman and her three children escaped injury after a firework was forced through the letterbox of her Co Strabane home.

The family were alerted when a smoke alarm went off and only minor damage was caused.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on both incidents to contact them.
