Couple shot at by masked men

A couple were recovering today after they were shot at by two masked men in east Belfast last night.

The man and his wife were leaving a club on Sandbrook Avenue at around 11.15pm when they were approached by two masked men.

One man pointed a gun at the couple and a shot was fired. The husband then wrestled with the gunman, and as the man and woman escaped the scene two more shots were fired at them.

The man was uninjured but the woman sustained a cut to her ear. It is not known whether the cut was caused by glancing bullet.
