Third Man Charged With O'Hagan Murder

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Sunday World reporter Martin O'Hagan.

Drew Robert King from Moss Road in Waringstown, County Down, heard the charge read against him at Craigavon Magistrates Court earlier today.

The 40-year-old was remanded in custody to appear again via video link at the same court on 10 October.

The court heard that during a series of police interviews he had denied the charge

Investigative journalist Mr O'Hagan was gunned down in 2001 after a night out in his hometown of Lurgan.

Loyalist paramilitaries later claimed responsibility for the assassination of the 51-year-old reporter, who specialised in exposing drug exploits and collusion.

Two men have already been charged with murdering Mr O'Hagan.

A 28-year-old man is also still being questioned by detectives about the killing.
