ATM Robbers Sought

The men who carried out a robbery on a Cash-In-Transit crew at an ATM machine yesterday are being sought by police after the incident at 1pm on Monday outside a supermarket on the Shore Road, thought to be Asda. Two security guards were approached by the men and after a brief struggle the assailants made off with a cash box. The robbers escaped in a black vehicle. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about it to get in contact with them.

Man! Stay Alive!

A local charity is attempting to 'set pulses racing' - and promote a positive message on cancer - as they launch their Man Alive! calendar 2009 featuring 12 female beauties from a top modelling agency including Judith Wilson, Miss Northern Ireland. The Ulster Cancer Foundation has launched the Man Alive! Calendar 2009 to promote key men's health messages which are featured on each calendar month as well as raise funds to support local men with cancer.

Downpatrick Estate Gets Cash Boost

A residential area in Downpatrick has welcomed the allocation of £20,000 funding by Housing Minister Margaret Ritchie. Ardmeen Green housing estate is set to benefit from environmental enhancements and road safety improvement works as part of the investment. The project will be funded through a grant of £18,000 from the Department for Social Development's Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Fund with the balance of £2,000 provided by DRD Roads Service. The work, which is scheduled to be completed within the current financial year, involves the provision of lay-bys of sufficient width and length to accommodate the parking requirements of the residents.

Four Men Arrested Over Explosive Device In West Belfast Released
Four men arrested in connection with an explosive device in west Belfast last year have been released from custody. The device was found in the Pantridge Road area on 30 October. Three men arrested under the Terrorism Act have been released unconditionally.

Appeal For Information On Aggravated Burglary In Cookstown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at the Queens Avenue area of Cookstown on Friday 3rd February. Shortly after 10pm, it was reported that four masked men entered a property in the area with one of the men armed with an iron bar and another man armed with a suspected firearm.

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.

The police are seeking help from the public as they probe a paramilitary-style shooting in the Kilwilkie area of Lurgan last night.
