NI Protective Clothing Firm Celebrates
There are celebrations today as a local specialist protective clothing supplier, Global Armour, has announced a major deal.
The Co Down-based firm has won fresh export contracts worth more than £4.5 million in a deal to supply thousands of pieces of personal protection.
The company already provides several police forces in the UK and further afield, but its new customers include another major UK constabulary and police forces in Central America and Bermuda.
It supplies products like helmets, riot control equipment, protective gloves and eyewear.
Police, military, emergency services and private organisations around the world use them.
Four new business agreements are in four different countries - and on two continents - and are for 7,500 pieces of body armour in total.
The development follows investment worth more than £500,000 in new manufacturing technology.
The firm employs 45 people at its 20,000 sq ft site on the Lissue Industrial Estate, Lisburn and has worked in the field for more than 30 years.
