Teen Injured In 'Paramilitary-Style' Attack
A teenager has been treated in hospital after a shooting in west Belfast.
The 17-year-old was shot in the legs in a paramilitary-style attack at a house in the Westrock Park in the Whiterock area at about 9pm on Sunday.
He is being treated for gunshot wounds to both legs, and his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
SDLP assembly member Alex Attwood said the attack was the fourth paramilitary style shooting in west Belfast in 10 days.
Condemning the attacks, he said: "My belief is that there is a group, probably dissident republicans, who are behind all of these attacks.
"I feel it is part of a strategy to curry favour with communities by exercising control over anti-social behaviour.
"But anti-social behaviour is a matter for police to stretch themselves to deal with."
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the Springhill Drive/Westrock Gardens area to contact them.

Man Shot In Both Legs In L'Derry
A man in his 30s has been shot several times in the legs in Co L'Derry. The shooting attack happened in the Rinmore Drive area at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, 09 August. The victim was shot in each ankle and once in the thigh. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".

The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.

A 35-year-old man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the neck in an attack at a house in Poleglass. The incident happened at the victim's home in Glenbawn Link around 8:40pm on Monday. He is being treated in the Royal Victoria Hospital, where his condition is described as serious, but stable.
