Car Parking Row Man Dies

A salesman has died after an alleged assault following an argument over a parking space.

The 53 year-old man collapsed, shortly after 2pm on Tuesday, after being involved in the fight behind some shops in Griffnock, East Renfrewshire.

He later died at the Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow.

Police said they have arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the incident.

It has been reported that the two men were arguing over a parking space situated near the Fenwick Road shops.

A post-mortem examination will take place today to find the exact cause of the man's death.

The incident has been captured on CCTV.

New figures published have shown than more than a quarter of hospital trusts in England increased car parking charges for patients and visitors in the year to last April. While some cut prices, others more than doubled them, according to data from 197 hospitals and mental health trusts.

Hospital Parking Fees Here To Stay
The coalition government has announced that car parking charges for hospitals based in England are set to stay. The previous Labour administration had pushed to scrap parking fees for in-patients and regular out-patients, however the coalition agreed that there were better uses of public money than abolishing the charges.
