Mutilated Woman 'Died From Head Injury'
The woman who died after being found badly injured and mutilated in a north-west London street, died from a severe head injury, a post mortem has revealed.
Mother-of-two Geeta Aulakh, 28, was found by a passer-by in Braund Street around 7pm on Monday.
One of her hands had been severed and she was suffering from head injuries. She was taken to Charing Cross Hospital, but later died.
It is understood that Mrs Aulakh was on her way to her childminder's home to collect her children when she was attacked.
Six men have been arrested in connection with the attack. It is understood that Mrs Aulakh's estranged husband is among those arrested.
Police believe that Mrs Aulakh may have been attacked elsewhere before being left on Braund Street and they have appealed for anyone who may have tried to administer first aid to her before paramedics arrived to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers said: 'When the victim was found we know that a lot of people were in the street and that several people may have tried to administer first aid before the police or ambulance arrived.
"These people left the scene before speaking to police and I would ask that anyone who was there, or anyone else who has information about the incident, calls us in the strictest of confidence."
