14 People Injured In Chemical Spill

Fourteen people were injured in a chemical incident on the Deeside Industrial estate at around 5am this morning.

An uncontrollable mix of chemicals which produced a toxic chlorine gas caused the chemical spill.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the environmental protection unit from Wrexham attended the incident on the 10th Avenue.

A spokesperson said: "Crews from the Service are trained to deal with this type of incident and we have the necessary resources to ensure that the incident was dealt with professionally."

Three people were taken to hospital and a further 11 people were treated at the scene.

The incident was brought under control by 8.25am.

Bodies Uncovered At Edinburgh Hotel During 'Chemical Incident'
Emergency services responding to an ongoing chemical incident have uncovered the bodies of a man and woman at the Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge, Edinburgh. Some 20 fire-fighters remain at the scene of the incident, which began at around 12:15 this afternoon.

Second Suspected Chemical Leak At Colchester Council Building
A council building has been evacuated for the second time in 10 days following a suspected chemical leak. Essex fire crews were called back to the county council's Essex House building in The Crescent, Colchester, after around 12 people were taken ill. Crews are giving first aid to those affected.

Fourteen young people remain in hospital after falling ill at a concert at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on Thursday night. Their condition has been described as stable. On Thursday evening, around 60 people were treated for suspected drug or alcohol intoxication, causing a "major incident" to be declared.
