Woman And Child Killed In London Train Crash

A woman and child have been killed in south London, after being hit by a train.

Details are still being established but British Transport Police said the crash happened at around 08:30 this morning at Riddlesdown station.

The London Ambulance Service was called but the two were confirmed dead at the scene.

The station, which falls into the London borough of Croydon, has closed and buses are replacing trains between Purley, Oxted and East Grinstead.

Suspicious death at West Yorkshire railway station
A railway station in West Yorkshire has been closed following the discovery of a man's body in the car park. Police were called to Fitzwilliam Train Station at Fitzwilliam in Pontefract just before 1:45am where the body was found. The man was taken to Pontefract General Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

London Victoria Evacuated After Fire On Train
London Victoria train station had to be evacuated at the start of the morning rush hour following a fire in the undercarriage of a Gatwick Express train. It is understood the train, which was on platform 13, was empty at the time of the fire, and Southern Rail posted on Twitter, "No-one was hurt which was good.
