Some 2,000 Join Queen To Mark Coronation

2,000 guests have joined the Queen at Westminster Abbey to mark the 60th anniversary of her Coronation, with some of the congregation being made up by a number who took part in the 1953 service.

20 members of the Royal family, including the Duke of Edinburgh, joined the Queen for the event, which Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Rev Justin Welby said honoured "60 years of commitment".

According to the BBC, several key items from the Coronation were placed in Westminster Abbey for the service, including the heavy, solid gold St Edward's Crown, marking the first it has left the Tower of London since 1953.
