Derbyshire Street Evacuated Over Bomb Scare

Derbyshire Police have said a number of homes in Clay Cross have been evacuated following reports of a 'suspicious package' in the area.

At 2.25am this morning (26 June), police received a report of a suspicious package in Victoria Street.

An army bomb disposal team has been called to the scene.

Around 50 homes in the area have been evacuated with residents being taken to the Sharley Park Leisure Centre. Several roads have been closed around the scene and the police have urged motorists to avoid the area.

According to the BBC, residents say the inquiries relate to a Vauxhall Astra which is parked near Victoria Street.

Two Police Officers Injured Following Incident
Two police officers have been injured following an incident in Kingsbridge, Devon. Police were called to an address in Retreat Close on 13 May following threats made by a man to another resident. Officers attended the scene at approximately 4.30pm and entered the property. Both officers sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Luton Airport Evacuated Following Security Alert
Luton Airport has been evacuated after a suspicious object was found in the security search area. All incoming flights have been suspended and the road to the airport has also been closed by police. A statement from the airport said: "The decision has been taken with the police to ensure the safety and security of passengers and staff.

Two 'bomb suspects' arrested
Two suspects in last week's attempted bomb attacks in London have been arrested after armed police surrounded two properities in London. It is believed that the two suspects are responsible for the attemped bombings of a Tube train between Oval Street and Stockwell stations and the Number 26 bus in Hackney last week.
