Bernie Nolan Dies Aged 52
Bernie Nolan has died from cancer aged 52.
The singer and actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Following treatment she received the all-clear in 2012.
However, the disease was found to have returned and spread to her brain, bones, lungs and liver, a few months later.
A spokesman for the family said in a statement that she passed away peacefully on Thursday morning surrounded by her family.
Boa Constrictor Escaped In Liverpool
It has been reported that a 5ft (1.5meter) boa constrictor snake has escaped and is "on the loose" in Liverpool.
The snake was reported to be missing from a house on Parbrook Road, Huyton, on Wednesday.
A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "The snake is a four-year-old boa constrictor. It is approximately 5ft long with black and green camouflage markings and yellow underneath.
"Whilst the snake is non-venomous and described as normally very placid, it may become aggressive if it feels threatened and the public are advised not to approach it but to contact Merseyside police on the non-emergency 101 number."
BA Take Delivery Of First Superjumbo
A new Airbus A380 superjumbo, with capacity for 469 passengers, has arrived at Heathrow.
It is the first of 12 that have been bought by British Airways, and follows the delivery last week of two Boeing Dreamliner aircraft.
Part of a £10bn upgrade to BA's long-haul fleet, the first commercial flights are due to begin in autumn 2013.

Rail Fares To Increase By 2.2%
Rail fare prices are to increase by 2.2% next year. The rise is to come into effect on 2 January 2015, the Rail Delivery Group has confirmed. The industry figure covers all fares, not just Season tickets and other regulated fares, which will rise by 2.5% as confirmed in Wednesday's Autumn Statement.

Delivery Driver Killed Making Final Run
A man found stabbed to death in Sheffield on Sunday was making his final pizza delivery ahead of starting a new job, it has been revealed. The body of 25-year-old Thavisha Lakindu Peiris was found by colleagues at the wheel of his car in Southey Crescent at 22:30 on Sunday night.

The London 2012 Olympic Velodrome has won an award - some nine months before the cycling begins. On Thursday it emerged that the Velodrome, designed by Hopkins Architects on behalf of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), had been awarded the Prime Minister's Better Public Award at a ceremony in London.
