Snooker Player Banned For 12 Years For Match-Fixing

Snooker player Stephen Lee has been found guilty of seven charges of match-fixing and banned from any World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) sanctioned game.

The 38-year-old former world number 5 was also ordered to pay £40,000 in court costs.

Lee denied that allegations and it is understood that he intends to appeal the conviction.

The WPBSA said that it was the "the worst case of corruption" it had seen.
