Police Offer Reward For Capture Of Escaped Killer

A £10,000 reward has been offered in exchange for information leading to the recapture of escaped convicted killer Lerone Boye.

27-year-old Boye was jailed for 28 years for the 2011 stabbing death of a 17-year-old-boy.

He absconded from the John Howard Centre in Homerton in east London on 16 October.

Boye is described as slim, about 5ft 10ins tall with short hair and a goatee beard. He has a distinctive horseshoe shaped scar on his right cheek and a gold tooth in his upper row of teeth.

He was wearing a grey/blue sweatshirt with a grey vest over the top as well as grey jogging bottoms when he was last seen.

People are advised not to approach Boye but to call 999.

Appeal Issued For Missing 12-Year-Old
Police have appealed for help in tracing 12-year-old Casey Rooney, who has been missing for over a week. The child was last seen at home on Sunday 18 October. He has gone missing before, however not for this length of time, police said. Officers believe Casey has been with older friends.

Search Launched For Missing Girl
Police are appealing for assistance in tracing a 12-year-old girl who went missing in New Addington on Friday afternoon. Tia Sharp was last seen leaving her grandmother's home in New Addington at around 12.00hrs (midday) on Friday 3 August. Tia said she was going to the Whitgift Centre in Croydon town centre.

UK ships intercept £350m worth of cocaine
UK ships have seized around three-and-a-half tonnes of cocaine in an operation in the southwest Caribbean. The drugs, which had an estimated street value of £350 million, were seized in a joint operation involving ships from the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary on Wednesday.

Grey Squirrel Cull Order At Duchy Of Cornwall Estate
A cull of grey squirrels on the Duchy of Cornwall estate in an effort to protect the indigenous red squirrel has been ordered by the Prince of Wales. It is understood that grey squirrels carry a poxvirus that is deadly to the red species. The estate has said it will employ "humane and lawful" methods to try and control the population.
